Precautions should be followed if omega 3 fatty acids are used by the patients with bleeding diatheses or by those who are on blood thinning drugs. It is said that taking high doses of Omega 3 may increase LDL level in the blood.

Omega 3 side effects are not yet clear. Omega 3 information brings to light the fact that it reduces the degeneration of the nerves. Omega 3 fatty acids produce no omega 3 side effects in pregnancy. According to omega 3 information, some of the researchers remark that use of Omega 3 in pregnancy may cause prolongation of gestational period from 40 weeks to 42 weeks. But, all these effects have yet not been proved by any research or study.
