For women suffering from this condition, telltale signs like anxiety, severe depression, and seasonal affective disorder may be present. Because of these symptoms, it is not advisable to take MDMA especially during the onset of premenstrual dysphoric disorder.

MDMA and PMDD

MDMA is not the recommended PMDD medication even this substance is highly recommended for psychotherapy. The reason is that MDMA have neurotoxic effects that can significantly affect the disposition of a person. This effect is dangerous for women suffering from premenstrual dysphoric disorder because it can enhance the depression especially during the extasy comedown. It can also exacerbate the symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder because other factors that are associated with PMDD include substance abuse, alcohol dependence, and consuming large amounts of caffeine among many others.

PMDD Treatment

When a person is on extasy, the effects of MDMA can promote anxiety attack and severe depression. These effects, when combined with the symptoms of PMDD can comprehensively exacerbate the condition and instead of alleviating the condition, it can become the major cause of anxiety attack, irritability, and severely bad temperament. And while it is not fatal, it can have some negative behavioral impact on the part of the user. So regardless of the benefits of MDMA in psychotherapy, it is still not a good alternative for PMDD medication just to enjoy an episode of pleasure and delight. Some of the symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder are also closely related to the symptoms that usually manifest during the extasy comedown. But most of it are associated with behavioral changes and according to PMDD information, it can further result to loss of energy and a growing disinterest even for routine activities. Some women even report to experience a feeling of severe hopelessness and having possible suicidal thoughts and when these are combined with the coming down of MDMA, it can certainly prove to be highly dangerous.
