MDMA or ecstasy is a substance known as upper or a natural antidepressant which means it elevates the mood of the user and one  of the reasons why ecstasy is also known as a mood enhancer. The opiates on the other hand are downers so logically speaking; opiates may have some effects on ecstasy although not necessarily reversing it altogether.
